Marcy Cook, independent math consultant and author, has been sharing ideas for motivating math instruction in elementary and middle school grades for years with teachers throughout the USA and in international schools on the continents of North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. As a finale, The Best of Marcy Cook workshop focuses on ensuring that all students are doing meaningful mathematics the entire math period. Starters, Mental Math, Stumpers, and Independent Task Time are all vital components of a “live math classroom”. All students need to be involved in activities where communication, reasoning, strategic thinking and problem solving are valued. Developing mathematical competence and mathematical confidence should be the goal of all teachers and Marcy’s hands on, minds on, workshop helps make this a reality.

About the Speaker:

Marcy Cook master educator, author and math specialist, has presented workshops and seminars for teachers throughout the USA and in over three dozen foreign countries. Having taught two years in the International School in Thessaloniki Greece, she has provided math inservices in South America, Central America, Canada, Mexico, Asia, Africa and Europe.
