  Kim Sutton will share exciting methods to motivate students through whole class and small group instruction. These ready-to-use activities go far beyond timed drill. Kim has created special math choice activities for drill and practice that you can use immediately! This seminar will provide usable and practical activities for the daily 5 - 9 minutes to motivate and thrill children of all ages. Special emphasis will be placed on organization and management of drill and practice strategies.   • 10:30 a.m. “Drill & Practice” songs that help students imprint basic facts for needed fluency
  • 11:00 a.m. Using “tools” of drill and practice the right way in the learning of math facts
  • 12:00 p.m. No Host Lunch
  • 1:00 p.m. Measuring the milestones of fluency with the basic facts for your grade level
  • 2:00 p.m. Place Value games and activities to take the mystery out of this difficult to learn concept
  • 2:30 p.m. Managing and organizing your drill and practice activities

  Who Should Attend?

  All 1-6 Classroom Teachers, Elementary Math Teachers, Resource Specialists, Curriculum Co-ordinators and Administrators should attend

  ½ unit of credit from Humboldt State University is available for an additional charge.
